Celebrating Professor Chen's Engineering Legacy

Celebrating Professor Chen's engineering legacy

When I think about my time doing a master’s in Communication Engineering at NCTU, Professor Chen is one of the first people that comes to mind.

He ran a tight lab, but in a good way: clear expectations, solid fundamentals, and a quiet push to do a little better each time. A lot of the way I look at engineering work now — careful, curious, not afraid of details — started there.

This isn’t a full “career summary” of his achievements, just a small thank-you from one former student who happened to pass through his lab and learned a lot on the way.

A small fun detail: our lab’s number was 812, and if I remember correctly it should have been written as 812‑D. People like A++, so the D balloon didn’t make the cut in the decoration.
